What Is Trust Wallet?
Trust Wallet is an easy-to-use decentralized, non-custodial wallet that allows users to access the crypto world securely and efficiently. Trust Wallet is an EOA (Externally Owned Account) — a standard blockchain wallet type secured by a private key. It is not a smart contract, which means the wallet is entirely under the user's control.
Key features:
Stores keys to your crypto assets locally on your device—Trust Wallet never retains personal information or private keys
Multi-chain, self-custody wallet with access to 10M+ crypto assets and 600M+ NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) across 100+ blockchains
Secure access to dApps (decentralized applications) with user consent
Trust Wallet does not hold user funds — all transactions occur on the blockchain

How Does Trust Wallet Work?
Trust Wallet acts as a bridge to the different blockchains it integrates with. Each blockchain has its own public address where cryptocurrencies are stored. Trust Wallet doesn't control or hold any crypto — it simply provides the means to access funds using the correct private keys or recovery phrase.
Key functions:
Accessing multiple blockchain networks for sending and receiving crypto
Crypto trading, swapping, staking, and interacting with DEXes (Decentralized Exchanges)
Self-custody — you hold your private keys, meaning only you have access to your funds
What Is Trust Wallet Swift?
Trust Wallet Swift was a smart contract wallet powered by AA (Account Abstraction — a technology that allows wallets to use smart contract logic without giving up self-custody), offering a more user-friendly experience by eliminating the need for a recovery phrase.
Key differences from standard Trust Wallet:
No recovery phrase required — access is secured via a biometric passkey linked to iCloud or Google account instead
Enhanced account recovery — advanced recovery mechanisms tied to the passkey
Flexible transaction fees — pay gas fees in tokens other than ETH (Ether)
Note: Trust Wallet Swift is being retired. New users can no longer create a Swift Wallet. If you have an existing Swift Wallet, transfer your assets to a standard Trust Wallet before the retirement deadline. See: How to Transfer Assets Out of My Swift Wallet
