This guide walks you through the process of staking SEI (Sei) using Trust Wallet. SEI is the native asset of the Sei Network, a Layer 1 blockchain (a base-layer network that settles its own transactions directly) built to support high-performance decentralized applications with a seamless user experience.

Key Details for Staking SEI with Trust Wallet

  • Minimum Staking Amount: a minimum of 0.000001 SEI

  • Lockup Period: None (unbonding — the waiting period before unstaked tokens are released — takes 21 days).

    • Note: During the SEI staking period, both your staked SEI and any rewards generated remain locked. You will not have access to these funds until the unstaking process for your SEI is completed.

  • Staking Yield (APR — Annual Percentage Rate): View current SEI staking rates in the Earn section of the Trust Wallet app.

  • Important: SEI staking and rewards are managed by Trust Wallet's partners. Therefore, Trust Wallet does not control the staking rate, lockup period, or minimum staking requirement for SEI. Lockup specifics, including any time frames for staking and unstaking SEI, are determined by the Sei Network itself.

  • Stay Updated: Ensure you have the latest version of Trust Wallet to access the most current staking options. Download Trust Wallet here.

How to Stake SEI

  1. Open Trust Wallet.

  2. Select Earn.

  3. Go to the Native Staking option.

  4. Search for SEI and select it.

  5. Tap Stake.

  6. Choose the amount of SEI to stake.

  7. Select a validator (a node that processes transactions and secures the Sei Network), or leave the default validator selected.

  8. Tap Continue.

  9. Review the staking details and tap Confirm to complete staking your SEI.

How to Unstake SEI

  1. From the main wallet page, go to Earn.

  2. Select SEI.

  3. Choose Unstake.

  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm unstaking your SEI.

Note: Once you tap Unstake, your SEI balance will not be reflected immediately in your wallet. Your unstaked SEI will remain in a lockup period of approximately 1–2 days before it appears in your wallet. To check your balance and the status of your unstaked SEI, enter your wallet address on SEI Scan (the Sei Network block explorer) for a more detailed view.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum staking amount for SEI?

  • The minimum amount required to stake SEI is 0.000001 SEI.

When will I start receiving rewards after staking SEI?

  • SEI staking rewards depend on the amount of SEI you stake and on network conditions. Your chance to earn SEI rewards may vary accordingly.

How often are SEI staking rewards distributed?

  • The frequency of SEI staking reward distribution depends on network conditions and the amount of SEI staked. Trust Wallet does not control the distribution frequency for SEI rewards.

Is there a minimum reward amount required to claim SEI staking rewards?

  • No minimum accrued reward is required to claim SEI staking rewards. Once the lockup period ends, you will receive your staked SEI along with any rewards.

Are my SEI staking rewards automatically compounded?

  • SEI staking rewards are automatically compounded. Any accrued SEI staking rewards are added back to your staked balance.

What is the lockup period for staking SEI?

  • The lockup period for unstaking SEI is 21 days.

Can I use my SEI while it is staked?

  • Your SEI tokens cannot be used while they are staked, because they are locked during the staking period. To access or use your SEI tokens, you must first unstake them, after which they will become available for use once the lockup period concludes.
