How to Import a Wallet Using a Secret Phrase on Trust Wallet

Step-by-step guide to importing an existing wallet into Trust Wallet using your secret phrase, across mobile and browser extension.

⚠️ Important: Never share your secret phrase with anyone. Store it offline in a secure location. Trust Wallet Support will never ask you for your secret phrase!

Trust Wallet makes it easy to import your wallet using your secret phrase (also known as a recovery phrase, seed phrase, or mnemonic, a 12 or 24-word backup that controls full access to your wallet).

Because Web3 (the decentralized, blockchain-based internet) is an open ecosystem, most Web3 wallets, including Trust Wallet, support wallet imports. That means you can access the same wallet across different platforms, like switching from the browser extension to the mobile app (or vice versa), or even importing from other wallets like MetaMask, Phantom, or Coinbase Wallet.

Importing other wallets (MetaMask, Phantom, and Coinbase Wallet, etc.) into Trust Wallet

You can bring your wallet from other apps into Trust Wallet using your secret phrase (also called a Secret Recovery Phrase or SRP) or your Private Key (a long alphanumeric code that grants access to a single wallet address).

Step 1: Get your secret phrase from your existing wallet

Open your current wallet app and locate the option to view or back up your secret phrase. Your secret phrase is usually found under Settings, then look for a section labeled Security, Backup, or Wallet Info.

Here's where you can typically find your secret phrase in common wallets:

  • MetaMask: Settings > Security & Privacy > Reveal Secret Recovery Phrase

  • Coinbase Wallet: Settings > Security > Wallet > Recovery Phrase

  • Phantom: Settings > Security & Privacy > Show Secret Recovery Phrase

  • 1inch, Atomic Wallet, OKX, Bitkeep, etc.: Check the security or wallet settings section

If you are unsure where to find the secret phrase backup option, refer to that wallet's official documentation.
