Trust Wallet makes it easy to import your wallet using your secret phrase (also known as a recovery phrase, seed phrase, or mnemonic). Because Web3 is an open ecosystem, most Web3 wallets—including Trust Wallet—support wallet imports. That means you can access the same wallet across different platforms, like switching from the browser extension to the mobile app (or vice versa), or even importing from other wallets like MetaMask, Phantom, or Coinbase Wallet.

Import from the Trust Wallet Mobile App to the Browser Extension
Step 1: Get your secret phrase from the mobile app
- Open your Trust Wallet mobile app and log in with your PIN or biometrics.
- Tap on the wallet name at the top of the main screen.
- Tap the three dots next to your wallet name.
- Choose Manual.
- Enter your PIN or password to reveal the 12-word secret phrase.
- Write it down and store it safely.
Step 2: Import into the Trust Wallet browser extension
- Download the browser extension if you haven’t already.
- Open the extension and choose Recover with mnemonic.
- Set a password for the extension.
- Read and accept the Terms of Service and Safety Warnings.
- Enter your secret phrase in the correct order and click Next.
- If adding to an existing extension, go to Settings > Manage Wallets > Add new wallet > Recover with mnemonic.
Import from the Trust Wallet Browser Extension to the Mobile App
Step 1: Get your secret phrase from the browser extension
- Open the Trust Wallet browser extension and log in using your password.
- Click on Settings (bottom menu).
- Select Manage Wallets.
- Choose the wallet you want to back up.
- Click Secret Phrase.
- Enter your password again and click Reveal.
- Write down your secret phrase and store it in a safe, offline location.
Step 2: Import into the Trust Wallet mobile app
- Download the latest version of the Trust Wallet mobile app if you haven’t already.
- If you’re opening the app for the first time, tap I already have a wallet.
- If you’re adding to an existing app, tap the wallet name at the top of the screen, then select Add wallet > Add existing wallet > Secret phrase.
- Read and accept the terms, then tap Continue.
- Choose Multi-coin Wallet (or single coin if you only want one cryptocurrency).
- Enter your 12-word secret phrase exactly as you backed it up.
- Tap Import.
Import from Other Wallets (MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase Wallet, etc.)
You can easily bring your wallet from other popular apps like MetaMask, Phantom, or Coinbase Wallet into Trust Wallet using your secret phrase (also called a recovery phrase or seed phrase).
Step 1: Get Your Secret Phrase from Your Existing Wallet
Open your current wallet app and locate the option to view or back up your secret phrase. It's usually found under Settings > Security, Backup, or Wallet Info.
Different wallets may have slightly different steps. Refer to their documentation if you're unsure.
Here’s where you can typically find your secret phrase:
- MetaMask: Settings > Security & Privacy > Reveal Secret Recovery Phrase
- Coinbase Wallet: Settings > Security> Wallet > Recovery Phrase
- Phantom: Settings > Security & Privacy > Show Secret Recovery Phrase
- 1inch, Atomic Wallet, OKX, Bitkeep, etc.: Check security or wallet settings
Step 2: Import Into Trust Wallet
Option A: Import to the Trust Wallet Mobile App
- Download Trust Wallet if you haven’t already.
- If you're opening the app for the first time:
- Tap I already have a wallet.
- If you already use the app:
- Tap the wallet name at the top of the home screen.
- Tap Add wallet > Add existing wallet.
- Choose Secret phrase as your import method.
- Read and accept the terms, then tap Continue.
- Choose Multi-coin Wallet (or single coin if needed).
- Enter the Secret phrase exactly as shown in your existing wallet.
- Tap Import to finish.
Option B: Import to the Trust Wallet Browser Extension
- Download the browser extension if you haven’t yet.
- Open the extension and choose Recover with mnemonic.
- Set your password for the extension.
- Read and accept the Terms of Service and Security Warnings.
- Enter your secret phrase from your existing wallet.
- Click Next to import your wallet.
Already using the browser extension and want to add another wallet?
- Go to Settings > Manage Wallets > Add new wallet.
- Choose Recover with mnemonic.
- Enter your secret phrase and follow the prompts to complete the import.
Final Tips
- Your secret phrase = your wallet. If someone gains access to it, they will control and steal your assets!
- Always back it up in a secure, offline location.
- Don’t store your secret phrase in emails, cloud services, or digital notes.
- Trust Wallet will never ask you for your Secret phrase.
- Do not transfer funds into any account if someone else provides you with the Secret phrase for that account.
